SUMMARY:

The project presents the dissertation research whose general objective is to analyze the constitutive elements of the pedagogy or pedagogical theory that guides the training practices promoted by the Pastoral da Juventude Rural in Ceará. Therefore, it has as specific objectives: to understand the approximations and distances involving the pedagogical practice of the PJR with the postulates of Popular Education and Rural Education; to situate the path of the Pastoral da Juventude Rural in Brazil and specifically in the state of Ceará in the historical and political context; to discuss how, pedagogically, political and religious formation are intertwined in the formative spaces promoted by the Pastoral da Juventude Rural. The problems emerged from the conception of Miguel Arroyo (2003) that deals with social movements and their pedagogical character. In this, we took advantage of some of his questions to use as a guideline for the delimitation of ours, since he directs the inquiries to social movements as a whole, we decided, given the pertinence of the questions, to direct them to our object of study. In this way, we built the following questions: Could we speak of a pedagogy of Rural Youth Pastoral? Who does the Pastoral da Juventude Rural speak or on behalf of whom does the Pastoral da Juventude Rural speak? To what extent have the pedagogical practices carried out by the PJR sought to overcome or break with the stigmas and prejudices given to the countryside, especially the youth? These and other questions that will possibly arise throughout the research, will contribute a lot to the designs and reflections on the pedagogical practice of the PJR will be used as a reference for the interviews and participant observation, in a militant research (BRINGEL and VARELLA, 2012).
