This study aims to investigate the policy of Education on Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER) in the Pernambuco state education system, based on the experience of the Center for Education on Ethnic-Racial Relations (NERER). Thus, the objective will be to analyze the management of the policy of Education on Ethnic-Racial Relations in the Pernambuco state education system, based on actions, projects, and documents prepared by the Center for Education on Ethnic-Racial Relations (NERER). The research follows a qualitative approach, through a case study, based on documentary analysis of the main records of the unit's activities and semi-structured interviews with professionals who work or are involved in the management of the policy of Education on Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER) in the unit. Regarding the analysis and interpretation of the results, Bardin's Content Analysis method (2016) will be used. The following studies on educational policy will also be used as a basis: Ball; Maguire; Braun (2016), Mainardes (2006), Black Thought in Education and Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations: Santos (2014) and Gomes (2017) and Educational Management (Cury, 2007; Vieira, 2007). Therefore, this study will contribute to the identification of practices/effects that the management of ERER's policy promotes to combat racism and racial discrimination, based on the appreciation of Afro-Brazilian, African, and Indigenous history and culture in education. Furthermore, it will broaden the understanding of ERER's political actions carried out in basic education, given that there has been progress in the production of laws, decrees, guidelines, and plans since the end of the 20th century.
