This research aims to understand the organization of spaces and the selection of materials in the development of children in Early Childhood Education settings. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, recognized for valuing children as protagonists, the investigation seeks to understand how environments can promote autonomy, creativity, interaction, and cognitive, emotional, and physical development from the earliest years of life. The research also analyzes teachers' conceptions of childhood and their pedagogical practices, reflecting on the need to transform learning spaces into welcoming, challenging, and opportunity-rich environments for growth. These environments should offer experiences that respect the child’s pace, encourage active participation, and provide materials that stimulate exploration and knowledge-building. The study contributes to deeper reflections on the importance of pedagogical practices that recognize the potential of children and strengthen the role of teachers in creating meaningful and enriching learning contexts.
