SUMMARY:
This research aims to address the issue related to the continued training of guardianship counselors through quality public education in human rights, and how this can impact the practice of these actors in their role of caring for and guaranteeing the rights of children and adolescents. The central problem is: with the interference of conservative and neo-Pentecostal ideas in the guardianship councils in the last four years, it is possible through continued training in human rights through programs such as the Escola de Conselhos de Pernambuco to promote better training for work and thus ensure dignified service from this same body? Starting from the main hypothesis, in order to ensure the rights of the child and youth population, as a problem for this research, we turn to reflection on the challenges faced with the importance and need to guarantee quality public education for these public agents and how The School of Councils program can be a useful tool in reorganizing public policies for children. Therefore, the general objective of this research is centered on understanding the need to guarantee transdisciplinary and transcultural human rights education for guardianship counselors in Pernambuco through the School of Counseling Councils as a Program of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, thus seeking, through the participation of social movements and organizations representing the population, to understand the agendas, challenges and propositions that have been identified as a subject for education for work. The specific objectives are focused on: historicizing the emergence and evolution of the guardianship council body in the face of its advances and challenges posed in the face of the recent conservative and neo-Pentecostal threat; discuss the continued training of guardianship counselors in the country as a public policy in the area of childhood; and, research the Pernambuco Council School Program in its 15 years of existence and its positive impacts on the training of guardianship counselors in the state, portraying as a diagnosis the profile of these students in that state in the last four years and the beginning of 2024, with the inauguration of those newly appointed through the Selection Process with a unified date to be held in 2023.
