DIALOGUE WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS ABOUT THEIR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS: AN EMPHASIS ON THE RIGHT TO RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The research deals with the fundamental rights of children and adolescents, with special emphasis on the right to religious freedom. In this sense, it starts from the following research question: do children and adolescents of a certain religious group have knowledge of their Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA)? The general objective is to investigate the knowledge of children and adolescents about their fundamental rights, based on educational practices in a non-formal education space. This is an exploratory qualitative approach to research. The subjects participating in the research are 10 children/adolescents (aged from 5 to 14 years old) who practice a certain religion. As methodological procedures, semi-structured interviews will be carried out at the Municipal Library of Camaragibe-PE, and a set of activities that deal with the rights of children and adolescents will be applied. The collected data will be analyzed through content analysis (CA). The research is organized into 4 chapters. The first deals with the diversity of childhoods based on studies of Sociology of Childhood; the second talks about the legal system directed to children's rights; the third talks about the importance of non-formal education in promoting educational practices that deal with the rights of children and adolescents; finally, the fourth chapter presents the methodological procedures adopted for the development of the research.
