SUMMARY:

Due to the pandemic scenario that has taken hold since the year 2019, a new social organization has taken place due to the necessary measures to contain the disease of COVID-19. Among the required measures, distancing, and social isolation stood out as they led to a radical change in the life of society in general, and children in this scenario were also widely affected, especially by the closure of educational institutions such as daycare centers and preschools. In this sense, the research aims to understand the advances and setbacks in the development and learning of children considering the pandemic, the distancing, and social isolation that led to the suspension of daycare and pre-school activities. The theoretical basis of the work is established and anchored in discussions about the conceptions of children and childhood, as well as how this social category is perceived within society. It also seeks to bring a historical background about the constitution of daycare and pre-school as well as the importance of their social role and development in the lives of children. Considering children as social, cultural, and emotional subjects, it also seeks to bring a dialogue with the perspectives of development developed by Bronfenbrenner, Vygotsky, and Wallon. As a methodological strategy, we intend to reach the children and bring them as co-producers of the research, for this, we aim to bring a methodological path that reaches the children and as a proposal we intend to first apply the methodology of the focal group in a group of teachers, to understand how they perceive the experiences of children in the pandemic and post-pandemic context, through the teachers, we aim to get in touch with documents produced by children in the pandemic context in the years 2019 and 2020 and finally, to privilege the children's voices, we intend to apply the methodological strategy based on the use of cultural probes so that they produce data to be further analyzed.
