SUMMARY:

The Interdisciplinary Experience Activity Program (PAVI) is an initiative of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. In it, students will experience, monitor, and practice situations analogous to everyday life. These activities are based on the daily experiences of professionals in the field of study and are being developed by professors within the undergraduate courses at UFRPE. They are of great importance to participants, since they will be leaving academic life for professional life. And, with the advent of technology in universities, the information management system has proven to be a partner in the evolution of PAVI, controlling, storing, and disseminating data. These are requirements that are part of an Information Management System (IMS) and are necessary within higher education institutions, and UFRPE is no exception. The importance and need to systematize PAVI are due to the fact that there has been no accurate data on the program since its inception in 2008. This has made it difficult to manage within the General Coordination of Undergraduate Courses (CGCG). So, what can be done to optimize the management of information about PAVI? Would it be the development of software, since new Information and Communication Technologies, associated with teaching, are great allies for expanding knowledge, organization, and optimization of PAVI? With this in mind, a proposal has emerged for software to control PAVI, which could meet the various specific demands of the Program and the work environment. And although UFRPE is already using several systems, such as the SIGPS package, this and the others in use do not have a module geared to the needs that PAVI presents within CGCG. Thus, in order to propose an efficient and effective product, it was necessary to conduct documentary research, bibliographic research, and systematic mapping of the literature. In this context, aligning theory and practice, the software called “ControlPAVI” was created, which will manage the entire PAVI. Consequently, with the publication of the data collected by “ControlPAVI,” it will be possible for the internal and external community to have real-time access to the quantity and variety of locations of the experiences that are being lived. At the same time, it may awaken in the academic community a desire for some of the PAVI areas, since the experiences lived resemble those experienced in the society where they will work as professionals. Finally, there will be control over the number of participants who start and finish the Program, in addition to the areas being explored. The reliable and agile transparency of the information provided by CGCG with the help of ControlPAVI will make all the difference, since this information comprises the database of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco.
