SUMMARY:

The use of technological resources in the teaching and learning process, mainly related to online education, enables, through virtual environments, the storage of large volumes of data capable of providing relevant information for analysis. One of the subjects subject to this analysis is school dropout. These data, in line with the application of Learning Analytics techniques, are capable of predicting the behavior of participants in a virtual learning environment - VLE. The present research is situated in the context of online courses under the perspective of student dropout from aspects related to the VLE. In this perspective, the general objective of this research is: to develop a platform integrated to the VLE Moodle that is capable of, through the application of Learning Analytics techniques, identify and present in dashboards, graphs and tabulated data, the profiles of students at risk of dropping out, providing the management and pedagogical teams with information for decision-making in the efforts against dropout in the scope of online education. For the development of the platform, the User-Centered Design method was followed, supported by the use of the Project Model Canvas tool and the Learning Analytics Reference Model. The design of the platform had the involvement of the management and pedagogical teams of the partner educational institution in this research.
