SUMMARY:

The integrated approach aims to unite the different elements that value prevention and health promotion, as well as the treatment of diseases. The prevention of neglected diseases, such as sporotrichosis and toxoplasmosis, has been a topic of discussion in the health systems of several countries. These pathologies, although different in their etiology and symptoms, present complex characteristics for public health, as they have a major impact on people's quality of life and health systems. Therefore, the objective was to carry out an epidemiological study of Toxoplasma gondii infection and antifungal resistance in Sporothrix brasiliensis isolates in Basic Health Units in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. In the first study, 63 isolates were analyzed using broth microdilution methods based on the M38-A2 and M27-A3 reference protocols recommended by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute - CLSI, in which isolates sensitive to terbinafine with a geometric mean of 0.04 were identified. μg/ml for the mycelium form and 0.05 μg/ml for the yeast form. Amphotericin was the antifungal with the highest MIC GM for the filamentous phase (2.0671 μg/ml) and for the yeast phase, Itraconazole had the highest GM (2.6918 μg/ml). The second chapter consists of the study of the seroprevalence of antibodies to T. gondii in dogs and cats between 2018 and 2021, their spatial distribution and socio-epidemiological profile. Of the 373 cat samples, 26% (97/373) were positive and 18% (48/266) were positive in dog samples. The knowledge obtained in these studies can contribute to generating important epidemiological information and help in decision-making and promote improvements in the quality of life of the population affected by these pathologies.
