Women's Circles in Recife (2020-2021): new political actions of care from a decolonial perspective
Insurgent Feminisms; Natural Gynecology; Women's Circles.
This research aims to analyze how Women's Circles in Recife promote political actions to care for women's bodies, emotions and subjectivities from an intersectional and decolonial perspective, as well as articulate and promote new practices in a configuration that involves the body, the environment, the knowledge of indigenous and ancestral peoples, spirituality and politics between 2020 and 2021. From a theoretical point of view, the project articulates reflections on Women's Circles, Natural Gynecology, Feminist Virtual Quilombamento, Decoloniality, Intersectionality and Escrevivência. The conceptualization of terms used by gender theorists today is also carried out. Thus, this research is theoretically based on authors from different fields of knowledge, such as Judith Butler, Aníbal Quijano, Patricio Arias, Maria Lugones, Carla Akotirene, Jean Shinoda Bolen, Pabla Pérez, Conceição Evaristo, Alice Oliveira, among others. The research sources are diverse, including digital sources, such as YouTube channels and social media pages, as well as interviews with participants in Women's Circles. The aim is to investigate the potential of meetings in circles created by feminist women as a way to resist and deconstruct patriarchal and colonial patterns and concepts, contributing to the construction of new epistemes that include the cultures and knowledge of indigenous and African peoples.
