Research, explore and narrate the memories and evolution of a specific subjectivity, while outlining a musical and aesthetic space in the Northeast that was connected, especially in Pernambuco, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte, during the democratic transition of the country and the region, It constituted a significant and, at the same time, enriching challenge. This occurred, among other reasons, because our method started from the refusal to use oral history only as an instrument for recovering the past, as if memories already carried within themselves an authenticity and veracity legitimized by what written documents and others say. Our goal was more than simply recording the voices of those without visibility and sayability; it was also to ensure that these testimonies did not dominate the research or suffocate the analysis. We sought to develop a research method that constantly modified and subverted the testimonies to extract from the memories what was valuable and relevant for the research.
