THE STUDY OF MYTH AND HISTORY CURRICULUM - ANALYSIS AND NARRATIVE OF THE TEACHING OF MEDITERRANEAN HISTORY IN BRAZIL AND PERNAMBUCO.
Ancient History, Myth, Curriculum, Historical Consciousness, Historical Culture
This project seeks to establish the initial bases for research on the Teaching of Ancient History at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco and the Postgraduate Program in History. This study seeks to investigate the knowledge linked to Antiquity in a way that reflects on the processes of examination and problematization of historical culture and the elaboration of historical consciousness. This investigation will focus on the investigation of the processes of perception and conceptualization in a school context of the past called Antiquity, namely: its temporalities and spatialities, cultural exchanges and identity constructions, forms of domination and reproduction of conditions existence, relations with the sacred, political and ethical formulations (some of these items having a great impact on later formulations). Having these questions with assumptions that this proposal aligns three axes of investigation that can direct possible research related to the Teaching of Ancient History. The first category of themes encompasses some structuring concepts of historical knowledge, such as those mentioned above, which dialogue with the objects and problems associated with Antiquity. The second category encompasses the development of languages linked to History Teaching. Finally, the third category would be focused on a more general understanding of the appropriations of Antiquity in the context of local or regional historical culture. Research based on these three axes will serve as a basis for evaluating to some degree the particularities of the national, regional or local appropriation of Antiquity. That is, the classroom, however, is a privileged environment, although not the only one, for observing the originality of representations of Antiquity in the context of Brazilian historical culture. We will also allow us to observe the potential use of different languages and representations of Antiquity and the development of associated skills and abilities in the school context.
