PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING: IMPLICATIONS OF A CONTINUOUS EDUCATION PROCESS FOR TEACHERS OF
HIGH SCHOOL MATHEMATICS
BNC-Formação Continuada. Problem Based Learning. Active methodologies.
After some reforms in the laws about teacher training, the Conselho Nacional de Educação
issued, through Resolution n.º 1/2020 the Base Nacional Comum para a Formação Continuada
de Professores da Educação Básica (BNC-Formação Continuada), that among other things, the
document defines the use of active methodologies in these training processes as fundamental
issue, which leads us to the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL), specifically, since this active
method appreciate processes that are identify as essential in the document. In this way, the
present work seeks to identify possible signs of PBL present in BNC-Formação Continuada.
Methodologically, it is a documentary research with a qualitative approach, carried out in the
document called BNC-Formação Continuada, which was analyzed following the assumptions
of content analysis, according to Bardin (2011). The results show evidence of PBL in the BNCFormação
Continuada, it was possible to recognize the uses of PBL as adequate and favorable
in continuing education processes to guarantee, above all, work between peers and selfassessment,
as guided by the analyzed document.
