SUMMARY:

This research aims to analyze the limits and possibilities of Active Technological Learning (ATA) as a strategy to promote inclusion in chemistry teaching for deaf students in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. It is based on the observation that, despite the legal advances in favor of inclusive education, there are still few proposals that combine technological mediation, linguistic accessibility and the role of the deaf student. The study seeks to fill this gap, contributing to the development of pedagogical practices that are more participatory, accessible and sensitive to the specificities of this audience, presenting as an original contribution the direct articulation between the pillars of ATA and the reality of deaf education in chemistry teaching. The theoretical framework is based on the five pillars of ATA (teaching role, student protagonism, technology support, learning and assessment), which guide pedagogical planning, the choice of resources and assessment strategies throughout the research. These pillars are linked to discussions on deaf education, active methodologies and the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT). By recognizing the deaf student as an active subject of learning, the research aims to understand how DICTs can favor the construction of chemical knowledge in a critical, accessible and interactive way. This is a qualitative and descriptive study, with data produced using the participant research technique. Sampling is by convenience, non-probabilistic, justified by the specificity of the target audience: deaf high school students from public schools linked to the Recife Norte Regional Education Office (GRE). The methodological procedures involve presenting the project, initial interviews, mapping technological resources, planning and applying lessons with DICTs, final interviews, as well as the participation of chemistry teachers and Libras Translators and Interpreters (TILs). The interviews will be analyzed using the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin, using thematic categorization. The mapping of technological resources will be examined in two stages, descriptive and interpretative, considering their pedagogical functionality. The experiences and impact of the active participation of deaf students in the construction of meanings in Chemistry will also be analyzed in order to contribute to more inclusive educational practices centered on student protagonism.
