CHEMICAL TRAILS IN PERNAMBUCO – THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN EDUCATIONAL GAME TO ADDRESS PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY AT SCHOOLS AND THE DIVERSITY OF PERNAMBUCO
Didactic Games, School Physics-Chemistry, Chemistry Teaching.
Among the major areas of school Chemistry, Physical Chemistry stands out as the one that brings together concepts and theories that are considered the most difficult by teachers and students in Basic Education, due to the need for prior knowledge in Mathematics, the relationship that must be established between the microscopic and the macroscopic, in addition to the approximation between the concrete and the abstract. There are several methodologies and teaching strategies that can help in approaching the concepts of Physical Chemistry in school, and among them, we highlight educational games, due to their potential to transform the student into an active subject in the learning process, but mainly due to their playful potential, which allows learning in a fun way. Thus, this research project starts from the development and validation, by peers and in practice, of the educational game Trilhas Químicas por Pernambuco, with the objective of analyzing the limits and potential of an educational game for the teaching and learning of concepts of Physical Chemistry, using the culture of Pernambuco as a context. The methodology consists of the stages of game development and validation, as well as stages related to the classroom, the survey of students' prior knowledge and the application of the educational game. The data will be analyzed based on an analytical framework inspired by the theoretical foundation, using a priori categories for the analysis of the validation in the practice of the game and emerging categories, from the constructed analysis episodes, about the learning of the content, according to Vygotsky's ideas.
