SUMMARY:

With this research, we propose an interlocution between the field of gender studies and
science education, because we understand the potential of science teaching to promote a
critical view of science and society, in order to overcome a teaching approach that is
focused only on learning scientific concepts, but a practice that shows a more politicized
approach and that enables intersections between the influences of patriarchy and the
production of scientific knowledge. To do this, we integrated the contributions of A. N.
Leontiev on thinking as a type of guiding activity with those of P. Ya. Galperin and
Talízina on the role of the subject's investigative activity and those of M. Majmutov on
the problem situations based on dialectical contradictions that arise in the analysis of the
scientific practices that underpin what we understand by doing science, with an
emphasis on the forms of production and communication of scientific knowledge and its
means of representation within the scope of the National Center for Research in Energy
and Materials. The aim is to understand how academic teaching can promote a critical
understanding of science, taking gender studies into account. To achieve this goal, we
will build the so-called Student Problem Situation Activity (Mendoza, Delgado, 2021),
in which the formation of skills occurs from the internalization of the guiding action,
which is initially external (material) and passes through qualitative stages, called
Galperin's Stages of Mental Actions, until it becomes an internal (mental) action. The
orientation of the activity is called the Scheme of the Complete Orienting Basis of
Action (EBOCA), consisting here of four invariant actions, represented in the skills of:
formulating the student's problem; building the conceptual and procedural core; solving
the problem; analyzing the solution. The methodological character of the research is
qualitative and quantitative, which is organized into the following moments: Planning;
Determination of the starting level (or initial diagnosis) of the participating students;
Planning and elaboration of the problem tasks; Execution of the mental actions in
stages; Analysis of the results found.
