SUMMARY:

Over the last few years, teachers in basic education and higher education have mobilized in favor of the development, implementation, analysis and discussion of teaching resources in the teaching of Chemistry. In this scenario, among the various elements observed on social media, memes stand out, as they are important digital resources for scientific dissemination, supporting the construction of knowledge and the dissemination of Science. Such resources, full of meanings, have caught the attention of students, teachers, as well as researchers, because the humor, texts and images, which permeate this textual genre, allow various subjects to be favored through critical analysis of the information. Memes come from collective/individual constructions and have been shared significantly in different virtual spaces, judging by the last decade, with significant acceptance and repercussion by the public. Therefore, it becomes pertinent to investigate their pedagogical possibilities as learning objects. Given this scenario, this research seeks to answer the following problem: How can the use of memes in the Chemistry discipline, based on Bloom's Digital Taxonomy, contribute to the development of higher order thinking skills by high school students? It is believed that carrying out this research will enable the scientific community to move towards new reflections and debates about the multimodal memes genre and its pedagogical role in the teaching of Chemistry, based on its potential for the development of higher order thinking skills by students from highschool. Furthermore, it is understood that their experience will allow contemporary society, and more precisely students and other agents involved with research, to understand the meme as an element of learning, rich in meanings, which contributes to the discussion of phenomena in the emerging scenario, in which Chemistry can be understood and disseminated by different subjects, in a simple, humorous and accessible way, therefore taking into account the virtual culture in which they participate.
