SUMMARY:

The main objective of this project is to identify ways of thinking in the speech of undergraduates in Natural Sciences, contributing to the awareness of the areas of the conceptual profile of energy. To do so, we will be guided by the Theory of Conceptual Profiles in approaching the concept of energy, considered structuring for Science teaching, but difficult to understand. In this way, together with the investigation with graduates in natural sciences from a federal public university in Piauí, we will seek to understand the different ways of thinking and talking about energy and a possible awareness of the areas of the conceptual profile of energy as well as their contexts of application . To this end, the methodological route was divided into five stages, namely: invitation letter to participate in the research and a conversation circle seeking to outline the professional and academic profile of the subjects; application of a questionnaire with questions related to the concept on screen and a semi-structured interview with situations applied to different contexts; filming of classes in the disciplines of physics and physical chemistry in order to assess the interaction between professors and undergraduate students when constructing meanings about energy; an interventional action with the objective of promoting conceptual enrichment; the application of a semi-structured interview, with the aid of a voice recorder, with ten pre-selected subjects, with the purpose of analyzing evidence of a possible awareness of the areas of the conceptual profile of energy. It is worth mentioning that the third, fourth and fifth stages will be recorded in video and audio and later transcribed and analyzed.
