SUMMARY:

The present study aims to analyze a didactic sequence based on Freirean dialogic education and on the Science-Technology-Society (STS) perspective for the construction of chemical concepts from the generating theme about electronic waste. When Freire articulates with STS, what is sought is the participation of society by overcoming its silence, cooperating to form competent citizens who are aware of their role in society. In this articulation, the present study is of a Qualitative nature of the Participant research type, which enables the hierarchy of actions to describe, understand and explain the relationships between the global and local vision. In this context, this investigation will be developed in a reference school, located in the city of Bom Jardim - Pernambuco, with students from the 2nd year of high school. A didactic sequence (SD) will be elaborated by the researcher, which will be built from the three pedagogical moments (3PM): Initial Problematization (IP); Knowledge Organization (KO) and Knowledge Application (KA), aiming to identify students' initial conceptions about the approach to electronic waste; to analyze the concepts constructed by the students, following the development of the didactic sequence, based on Freire's dialogic education and on the STS approach; to identify the contributions and limitations of the didactic sequence in its relationship with the three pedagogical moments (3PM) and with the concepts constructed by the students; to elaborate an educational product that includes the respective didactic sequence developed for the construction of chemical concepts about electronic waste. In order to meet the proposed objectives, we emphasize that one of the purposes that guides this research is to contribute with discussions, plans and actions that reflect a significant improvement in the teaching and learning process of Chemistry, in order to form critical students and active in society.
