Forest fires are complex phenomena, influenced by a range of climatic factors, as well as human interference. In Brazil, these fires affect all biomes, with the Amazon being one of the most affected. The study of these fires is therefore necessary due to their negative effects, including environmental damage, greenhouse gas emissions and economic losses. In this scenario, understanding the temporal and spatial distribution of these fires is challenging, due to the variation in the behavior of their nature. This study seeks to address this issue, using fractal techniques to analyze the long-term temporal and spatial correlations between fires in Brazilian biomes. The results for the Amazon biome showed that in the daily series of fire anomalies and climate variables (relative air humidity, maximum temperature, rainfall and wind speed), there are persistent long-range correlations. It is still possible to note the presence of persistent long-range cross-correlations between the series of climatic variables and the fires, in which the values of the DCCA correlation coefficient indicated positive correlations between fires and the variables maximum temperature and wind speed, and negative correlations between fires and the variables relative air humidity and rainfall for the period from 2002 to 2022.
