SUMMARY:

The fit of nonlinear models, model evaluators, identity tests and parallelism was considered in a study of the influence of shading of Aroeira (M. urundeuva Fr. All.) and Ipê Felpudo (Z. tuberculosa Vell. Bur.) on the in situ degradability of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu in a silvopastoral system. This experiment was carried out in a Cerrado biome in the municipality of Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, distributed from December 2004 to April 2005. The degradability and effective degradability was measured by dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP). ), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (FDA) in Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu and a sub-sub-divided plot design was used. The models by Orskov and McDonald (1979) and Sampaio (1988) showed good results that are biologically interpretable, and the Orskov and McDonald (1979) models obtained better values in the AIC, BIC and adjusted R². The parallelism and identity tests report the difference in the curves. Nonlinear models showed that B. brizantha cv. Marandu shaded with Aroeira (Myracrodruon urundeuva) presented different curves for the month of April in shade and sun in the degradation of DM, CP and NDF. Degradability with B. Brizantha cv. Marandu shaded with Ipê Felpudo (Zeyheria tuberculosa), has different results in the curves of the linear models for the months April, December and March in PB, FDN and FDA in sun and shade.
