PERNAMBUCO EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION SYSTEM (SAEPE): IMPLICATIONS IN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS OF PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICS IN SECONDARY EDUCATION.

The research entitled Pernambuco Educational Assessment System (SAEPE): implications for the teaching-learning process of Portuguese and Mathematics in High School, has the general objective of analyzing the possible influences of SAEPE on the teaching-learning processes of Portuguese and Mathematics in schools with the highest proficiency index in the Pernambuco Education Development Index (IDEPE). The specific objectives are: To map the investments made by the public education system of the state of Pernambuco, through SAEPE, with the objective of improving the quality of teaching of Portuguese and Mathematics in High School; To verify how the pedagogical practice of teachers in the schools investigated has contributed to improving the quality of teaching, based on SAEPE evaluations; To identify how the continuing education of teachers in the state has impacted the high proficiency index in IDEPE of the schools investigated; To analyze how the involvement of school management in supporting teachers' pedagogical practices has favored the high proficiency rate in IDEPE of the schools investigated; To investigate how the construction of student protagonism has occurred in the schools investigated and how this contributes to the high proficiency rate in IDEPE. Regarding the methodological procedures, the research will adopt a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews, participant observation and document analysis as data collection techniques. The research will be carried out in three High School Reference Schools (EREMs) located in the state of Pernambuco, which presented the highest IDEPE rates in 2023, whose results were released in 2024. The research subjects will be Portuguese and Mathematics teachers, managers, support educators and students. Data analysis will be carried out through Content Analysis, with a thematic and categorical focus. The study aims to contribute with findings on the influence and contributions of the culture of analysis of external assessments, in particular SAEPE, in the teaching-learning processes of Portuguese Language and Mathematics in schools with the highest IDEPE
