THE CONTRIBUTION OF WOMEN FARMERS TO THE PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY IN THE POTENGI TERRITORY IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE.
Agroecology; Quilombolas; Feminine knowledge. This work aims to study, especially, the practices of women farmers from rural quilombola communities in the Potengi territory in Rio Grande do Norte, who will be valued, as interlocutor subjects of this research and, from this, dialogue with research that seeks to connect the promotion of health with the development of agroecology in Brazil in line with the National Health Policy for Populations of Fields, Forests and Waters. To achieve this, we will use participatory research as a method that values the direct participation of all people involved in the investigative process. As techniques for this participatory research, we will rely on the contributions of participatory methodologies, which in our understanding will enhance the results of participant observation, aided by the use of field notebooks, semi-structured interviews, focus groups and document analysis, as part of data collection, together with women farmers and local communities. For data analysis, we will perform a content analysis, from the perspective of Bardin (2004). The results of the research will be widely disseminated with the aim of promoting appreciation and giving greater visibility to the work of women farmers and their importance for human health and sustainable local agroecosystems, as well as to subsidize public policies aimed at promoting health and agroecology .
