AREA: Multidisciplinar
SUMMARY:

This study aims to analyze the contributions and relationships between ancestral knowledge, science and countryside education based on Ethnomathematics for the reconnection of knowledge. In this sense, it brought the following problematizations: It is possible from Ethnomathematics, to understand the presence of mathematics in the practical activities carried out by the participants of the country / Quilombola community of Vargem do Sal, located in the district of Maniaçu, peasant area of the municipality of Caetité in Bahia? What elements of Ethnomathematics are present in the speeches and activities developed by these people from the traditional community, in the activities developed by the people from the country / Quilombola community and in the practices of the faculty of the municipality of Caetité - Bahia that can be used as interdisciplinary pedagogical directions in the teaching and learning process in the early years of elementary school in the countryside education modality? How to materialize these daily practices in pedagogical actions that provide the validation of knowledge and appreciation of traditional knowledge? As a strategy, we want to know the community's daily life, investigate and analyze the presence of mathematics concepts in the community's daily life, build dialogues between ancestral knowledge and the formal education curriculum with a focus on countryside education, build interactions between the country / Quilombola and the basic school, identify in the teaching practices of the teaching network the presence of teaching activities that dialogue with the principles of Ethnomathematics and contribute to the implementation of practices inspired by the principles of Ethnomathematics in the school context. The theoretical-methodological conception adopted for the development departs from the classic theory of Dialectical Historical Materialism - MHD, based on Karl Marx, with contemporary scholars such as Dermeval Saviani, Ubiratan D''Ambrósio, Gelsa Knijnik, Paulo Freire, Milton Rosa, among others that advocate to this perspective. With regard to methodological techniques, a bibliographic and focus group study will be carried out, however, it is intended to develop a descriptive research, an exploratory one, a field one and some elements of ethnography with the participants of the country / Quilombola community of Vargem do Sal and with the teaching staff of the municipal teaching network of Caetité Bahia, Elementary School Anos Iniciais. It is hoped that from this research, it will be possible to provide a reflection on alternative teaching practices that value the identities of rural participants and the pedagogical actions of teachers who develop their work, considering the school floor as a place of speech and validation of the knowledge of students and the community in which the school is located.
