SOUND NARRATIVES FROM THE RADIO TO THE PODCAST: THE USES AND APPROPRIATION OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES BY YOUNG RURAL SETTLER IN ZONA DA MATA NORTE – PE
Agroecology, Popular Communication, Rural Youth, Sound Communication
Analyzing the nuances of contemporary communication has been a challenge for researchers in the field, given the reconfigurations of production and information sharing models in the corporate media, as well as the engagement of social movements, with actions aimed at communication as a way of acting. popular. Thus, the historical protagonism of social movements in this field demonstrates the ability to articulate and mobilize people interested in forms of expression and collective participation. In this bias, we start from the convergence of the theoretical itineraries of Agroecology with those of Communication, specifically with the principles of popular communication, as a space of counterpoint to the hegemonic media aligned with the logic of agribusiness. In this way, the field of popular communication makes it possible to broaden the debate about Agroecology, as an alternative to overcoming the paradigm of capitalism in the field, and as an essentially dialogic communication practice, enhancing the emergence of more democratic forms of manifestation and visibility of agendas of interest to rural communities. In this sense, we highlight the importance of encouraging rural youth to act as media protagonists, so that the intergenerational debate on knowledge and experiences of family farming can contribute to the preservation and multiplication of ancestral knowledge and the establishment of dialogue with the new generations. Based on these assumptions, our objective is to identify whether the offer of sound communication production workshops, based on popular communication, can arouse the interest and engagement of rural youth in the dissemination of the importance of Agroecology as a new paradigm for agriculture. The territorial unit of analysis of this research is the Zona da Mata Norte of Pernambuco. The proposal aims to promote a popular communication workshop focused on sound media such as conventional radio, podcast and web radio, with rural youth as subjects, seeking to stimulate new collective communicative practices in the territory. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, exploratory research will be used in the first phase, to survey and define the group interested in applying the study in their community, in addition to the participatory research technique in a second phase, with the sound communication workshop as the main training action, aimed at the sharing and collective construction of sound media production knowledge. Finally, we will also use semi-structured interviews, a diary to record impressions resulting from immersion in the field, and a focus group focused on the evaluations of the training process by the participants.
