AQUAPONICS AND AGROECOLOGY: AN ANALYSIS OF THE AQUAPONICS SYSTEMS INSTALLED BY THE MUTIRÃO CIRANDA PROJECT IN PERNAMBUCOKEYWORDS: Agroecosystems, Aquaponics, Agroecological Transition
The present work aims to analyze to what extent the aquaponic systems installed in four agroecosystems by the Alternative Technology Service (SERTA), through the Mutirão Ciranda Project between the years 2019 and 2021, contribute to the strengthening of their agroecological transition process . The method of economic-ecological analysis of agroecosystems, LUME, developed by AS-PTA will guide the methodological process of this exploratory research. In convergence with the method, this research proposes to be participatory since it will seek to encourage research participants to appropriate their knowledge and collaboratively lead the process of construction of agroecological knowledge. The four selected agroecosystems are located in the municipalities of Glória do Goitá, Pesqueira, Buíque and Arcoverde, representing the regions of the Zona da Mata, Agreste and Sertão regions of the state of Pernambuco. Among the selected agroecosystems, two are led by women and two by men. Furthermore, one of them is located in Kapinawá indigenous territory. In order to share the research results and create strategies to bring scientific knowledge from the academy closer to popular knowledge of family farming, a booklet will be prepared as a result of this research to be delivered to the surveyed territories.
