COMMUNITY KITCHENS AS A PUBLIC FOOD POLICY: THE CERTAINTY OF A HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS MEAL
food- human rights- FNS- food systems
Community Kitchens are part of the network of Public Equipment for Food and Nutrition Security. They are part of the operational structure of the National Food and Nutrition Security System, whose goal is to provide healthy and nutritious meals for people in food insecurity situations. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Community Kitchens in Pernambuco, from the four dimensions of Food and Nutrition Security. The study is characterized as a qualitative research of the action research type. This type of research is best suited for this project, since the researcher coordinates the actions of the groups, participates actively in the activities, and thus redimensions and shares the activities with all the actors involved. To this end, regionalized face-to-face workshops with the municipalities, virtual workshops, field visits, and the application of semi-structured questionnaires will be used. As expected results, we intend to point out the engagement of the subjects related to the guarantee of the Human Right to Adequate Food, the obstacles for the insertion of family farming foods in community kitchens and if in fact these facilities favor the consolidation of the municipal SAN system, and what are the types of incentives for the participation of the population that access the Community Kitchens in debates to overcome the challenges and sustainability of these facilities.
