THE POTENTIAL OF AN INTERINSTITUTIONAL AGROECOLOGICAL FAIR IN THE PROMOTION OF HEALTHY EATING: Know-how in dialogue with family farmers in the State of Goiás
Family farming. Alternative Food Network. Healthy eating. Short Circuits. Sovereignty and Food and Nutrition Security.
The Alternative Food Network (RAA) transcends the Industrial Agro-Food System and consolidates itself in the collaborative relationship, which permeates the context of production and consumption of healthy foods, with the countryside and the city. It highlights the socio-productive inclusion in the promotion of Territorial Agro-Food Systems (SAT) with emphasis on ecological practices, social technologies and Short Circuits (CC). This converges with the promotion of healthy eating with Sovereignty and Food and Nutrition Security (SSAN), at the intersection of people and institutions, which weave the production chain in the context of Social Management. The Interinstitutional Agroecological Fair (FIA) since 2019 weaves this intersection in the rural territories of the State of Goiás. And in the city of Goiânia, it was carried out at the Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG), the Federal Institute of Goiás (IF Goiano) and the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). In 2020 and 2021, as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was adapted to the virtual format, with the process that deals with this transition being the focus of the research on screen. From this perspective, the general objective of the research was to describe and analyze the operation of the Virtual Inter-Institutional Agroecological Fair (FIAV) in the context of food production and supply. As the methodology chosen, the existential/integral action research, carried out in 2021 and 2022 with FIAV family farmers. Research and technical and technological products were developed horizontally and dialogically in the light of popular and scientific know-how, transcending the economic-mercantile dimension and in convergence with agroecology. FIAV is an RAA, so its operation promoted healthy eating with SSAN. Among the challenges encountered, there is that of family farmers (re)existing the socio-environmental impacts of the Industrial Agro-Food System and having access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in order to comply with the inter-institutional specificities of the FIAVs
