Brazil has a history of land occupation, associated with land grabbing and land conflicts, including the absence of any policy to democratize access to land. A reality that could be even worse if it weren't for the strength of the peasants' struggle that has pressured the state to develop a settlement policy. Despite the significant number of settlements throughout the country, inequality in access to land, violence in the countryside and the criminalization of movements is still an expressive fact that demonstrates the absence of an agrarian reform policy. In view of this, one of the most discussed topics in the current conjuncture in relation to rural settlements has been the titling of settlements. The individual title is questioned by organized social movements fighting for land and by researchers on the subject, as it is believed that such a procedure could lead to a reconcentration of already expropriated lands. This study intends to know the reality of the already titled settlements in Ceará, mainly from the perspective of women, who are believed to be the most impacted, as well as confront the reality found in these settlements with the reality of untitled settlements in the Crateús region. The objectives are: to collect data on the conditions of the titled settlements; analyze the impacts of the titling process on the organic nature of the settlements; to analyze the role of peasant social movements in the face of titling. It is an ethnographic case study and as a product a booklet will be prepared that will bring a map of the titling in the state.
