SUMMARY:

In light of the challenges faced in literature teaching in Brazilian high schools and the growing influence of digital technologies on youth education, this research aims to investigate didactic-pedagogical strategies within the framework of Open Literary Education (OLE) for developing literary reading skills among secondary school students, focusing on the use of videopoems in dialogue with reinterpretations of Manoel de Barros’s poetry. The study is grounded in the concept of Open Literary Education, a perspective that advocates the use of open educational resources (OER), collaborative authorship, and critical and creative pedagogical practices in literature teaching. The guiding research question is: How can Open Literary Education support literary reading development in high school, considering didactic strategies for integrating videopoems based on reinterpretations of Manoel de Barros’s poetry? The theoretical framework draws on Silva (2024), who proposes integrating multiliteracies, authorship practices, and teacher mediation; Candido (1995), who understands literature as a universal and humanizing right; and Santaella (2012), who addresses the transformations of reading in cyberculture. Ecocriticism is adopted as a theoretical lens to approach Barros’s poetic work, based on Glotfelty and Fromm (1996), emphasizing the connection between poetry, language, and nature. The videopoem, as a hybrid and intersemiotic genre, is analyzed following the contributions of Ferreira (2003) and Melo e Castro (2007), who highlight the creative potential of audiovisual poetry. The methodology employed is qualitative action research, developed in four stages: literature review, ecocritical analysis of selected poems by Manoel de Barros, diagnosis of students’ reading profiles through interviews and reading journals, and the implementation of a literary workshop culminating in the production of videopoems. The expected results include the enhancement of students’ aesthetic and ecological sensitivity, the appreciation of youth authorship, and the renewal of literary reading practices in public schools. This study seeks to contribute to the field of literary education by demonstrating that the convergence of literature, technology, and open education can enrich literature teaching, making it more sensitive, interactive, participatory, and aligned with the challenges and possibilities of digital culture.
