The city in Gris, by Cida Pedrosa
Cida Pedrosa, City, Poetry, Recife.
This work is carried out to present the book Gris, by Cida Pedrosa, with a view to the working city and its contradictions, emphasizing hunger and subalternity. We divided it into three chapters to better present our research. In this way, the first chapter builds a perspective of poetry and the function of literature from the contributions of Alfredo Bosi (1997), Octavio Paz (1990), T. S. Eliot (1991), Antonio Candido, Theodor Adorno (2003), among others. authors; and also features a little of the Pernambuco author Cida Pedrosa. The second chapter explains the concept of city and reveals the contradictions of the capitalist city from the readings of Rolnik (2007), Milton Santos (2013), Solnit (2016), Spivak (2016), Josué de Castro (1984) and other authors. The third chapter deals with the analysis of the poems, bringing the literary text to the center of the discussion. Therefore, it is necessary to perceive, and politically locate, the commitment of the writer's poetry to the unveiling of the deep social inequalities of the city of Recife.
